What is Oxy bleach
stain remover?
Oxy bleach, or, Oxygen bleach
are common terms for Sodium
per-carbonate
Sodium per-carbonate, a compound of
natural soda crystals and hydrogen
peroxide. When Oxygen bleach comes
in contact with water, a chemical reaction
occurs and the substance releases
oxygen - producing bubbles that act to
dislodge dirt and stains.
Oxygen bleach is a cleaning agent;
in powder form is usually part of a
Biological detergent, and also sold
separately as a powder additive with
names like Oxy-power, Oxi-clean or
Oxi-action stain remover that can be
safely used in your Washing machine.
Also, Oxygen bleach doesn't break down
the fibres in fabrics like Chlorine bleach
would - plus, Oxygen bleach doesn’t
have a odour.
Oxygen bleach is environmentally safe;
as the only by-product is soda ash
– a non-toxic substance that's safe for our
water supply.
Can I use a Oxygen
bleach stain remover
with my colour wash?
Oxygen bleach powder is colour-safe and
won't bleach white patches on dyed
fabrics as Chlorine bleach would. It can
be used safely to remove dirt and stains
from your coloured laundry without fading
the colours.
Oxygen bleach is safe for most fabrics,
although it should never be used when
washing silk or wool.
Always follow the
bleaching instructions
on the clothing label
Always use Oxygen bleach in accordance
with the manufacturer’s care instructions,
and especially look out for the ' DO NOT
USE BLEACH ' symbol.
